Payroll Services

James Marks Academy Trust use Dataplan Education to provide fully managed payroll services; they are a leading provider of payroll, pension management and HR services in the education sector. Dataplan take on the responsibility for all the technical and compliance aspects of the payroll.

 

 

The fixed price payroll service includes:

  • Dedicated UK based processing team
  • Processing of PAYE / Pension / other deductions
  • Providing online reports and management information for approval before pay day
  • Online review of employees payslips (current periods and historical)
  • Payment of salaries and Pensions by BACS once approved
  • Production of month end reports / payroll journals for the finance systems
  • Completion of monthly HMRC filing requirements under RTI
  • Completion of year end work required by HMRC and TP/LGPS
  • Providing End of Year Certificates P60s for staff 

 

VERA Portal

James Marks Academy Trust use the VERA portal which brings together payroll, HR and pension data. Vera presents an HR view of the Trust employees, allowing senior leaders to drill down into payroll data and handle routine tasks such as tracking changes to contracts, absence management and handling communications with our payroll team.

 

HR Paperwork/Contracts Management

Using the Vera portal, the Central Payroll Team will ensure new starters have been entered into the payroll system and issue all forms of communication in relation to new starters; including offer letters, employment contracts, etc. 

 

E-Payslips

ePayslip service provides an employee self-service portal to securely deliver pay and other information and allow a secure two-way communication with employees.

 

The service includes:

  • Employee portal 
  • Free access to smartphone app for (iPhone / Android and Windows phones)
  • Delivery of ePayslips / eP60s / P11Ds and much more
  • Secure staff messaging system from employee to school or HR department
  • Intranet capabilities for delivering information such as updates

 

Pensions

Dataplan handle auto-enrolment and pension reporting and have experience working with contractual pension schemes and statutory pension schemes.  Education pensions are complex but the pension team are on hand to deliver a streamlined service, including the filing of paperwork for starters, leavers, contract changes, contracts and returns.

 

We are able to pick up the pension process from where payroll processing ends, handling all data submissions, monthly and annual returns as well as dealing with any resulting queries.

 

The pension service includes:

  • Processing of pension contributions through payroll
  • Payment to appropriate provider
  • Completion of monthly returns for Teachers and Local Government Pensions
  • Completion of annual service and contribution returns for each scheme

 

The Pension Service provides the interface between the Trust and the pension scheme ensuring all necessary changes are processed.  This includes:

  • New starter and leaver notifications
  • Change of employee details including contracts / names / addresses
  • Service history calculation / queries
  • Maternity / Paternity reporting and adjustments
