JMAT Boards

As directors of a charitable trust, our board ensure that they comply with charity and company law.

 

The board of the JMAT has three core functions:

  • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
  • Holding Executive Leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils and the performance management of staff; and
  • Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent

 

The board is supported by the Executive Team consisting of the Executive Head and Chief Financial Officer.

 

As a multi-academy trust, the board is responsible for all of the academies in the Trust. We exercise this responsibility by delegating functions to Sub-Committees, the Executive Team and Academy Head Teachers through our scheme of delegation.

  • Extensive management skills gained in commercial business and a long term interest in special needs and disabilities
  • Treasurer for Herts Inclusive Theatre for 8 years until 2017
  • 30 years working in commercial IT services
John DeBraux
  • Experienced former governor and chair, (13 years)
  • Director and part owner of a recruitment company (since 2011)
  • Former director and owner of consulting company
  • Former Executive Head of Strategic Health Authority and 3 NHS Trusts (17 years)
  • Former Chair of Watford and Three Rivers Relate
Kathy Dunnett
  • Senior Adviser for School Governance at Herts for Learning since 2011
  • Worked with schools, education, health and social services for 40+ years in a variety of roles and a published author within health education
  • Qualified nurse practitioner and has worked as a health professional in Hertfordshire for around 30+ years specialising with vulnerable children's groups, especially looked after children
  • Member of Herts for Learning
  • Trustee on the Board of a Multi Academy Trust (secondary) 
  • Member of two single academies 
  • Co-opted governor of a small VC primary 
  • Co-opted governor of a Junior School 
  • Director of an Early Years Day Care Centre
John Manning
  • 30-years’ experience of governance in education in Hertfordshire
  • Co-opted governor of a Primary School
Simone Tyson
  • Herts for Learning Governance Trainer, External Reviewer, Governance Consultant and Hertfordshire Strategic Leader of Governance
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant
  • Chair of Governors - Outstanding Primary School

Nik Pringle
  • Retired Police Officer who now works as a Special Inspector and Staff Manager for Herts Constabulary

  • Neighbourhood responsibilities including delivering Policing/Prevention messages to Primary/Secondary Schools & Local College with Hertfordshire Constabulary

Trevor Orchard
  • Over 25 years in Education, 19 of which have been in Senior leadership positions, with almost 10 years as Head of Roman Fields

  • Prior to working in education, was a Project Manager in the construction industry

  • Holds the National Professional Qualification for Headship

Alan Clarke
  • Previous CEO of a charity that provides residential and short breaks services for both children and adults with learning difficulties

  • Governance and management experience in running organisations that care for vulnerable people

Mark Braley
  • Head of Product Management, European Equity Research for Jefferies International

  • Chartered Accountant with 20 years of experience in Financial Services

Brian Scott

  • Vice President of Growth & Infastructure/ Team Dynamics LLC

  • Oversees Financial and HR Operations and Communication Departments

Eliane Yebkal

  • CEO at Eliane Champagne
  • Over 28 years of experience in general management
  • High knowledge of food and beverage control management, operational management and analysis, management accountancy strong sales techniques
